Home again

Well we survived our trek to Nebraska and Will was probably the best traveler out of all of us! We started back to Houston on Saturday morning and stopped in Kansas City to see Krissy, Tony, and Brody before we kept going. We stopped that night in Oklahoma City and got a hotel room and then came the rest of the way to Houston the next day.

It was our 5 year anniversary and was a romantic one -- complete with a night in the Days Inn and Taco Bell for dinner. :) Todd tried to say that it was a re-creation of our wedding night since we had Amigos and beer after our reception, but I'm not buying it... Poor Todd -- first he spent his first Father's Day driving, then our anniversary driving too! Ah, the things we do for the ones we love! :)

Here's Will hanging out with his friend Brody in Kansas City --

It was great to see Krissy and Tony too -- who would have thought when Krissy and I were paired up to be roommates as freshmen in college that we would be standing here showing off our babies!!

It was funny to us how different Will was even from one week to the next in the car. The first week he slept pretty much the whole trip and other than the hour or two that I read People magazine to him to keep him quiet, he really didn't interact with me much. :) On the way home he was awake a lot more, although still perfectly content most of the time. He just listened to the music and stayed occupied checking out the toys I brought along. It was neat to see him actually react to the toys and track them with his eyes. We are finding that his favorite stuff usually makes noise -- that will be fun later I'm sure!

He must of thought it was pretty funny when I tried to sing to him, because this was the reaction I got...

Since the little traveler made it to and from Nebraska I guess we'll continue to travel and not become home bodies...next stop -- Shreveport for the 4th of July! :)

Our busy guy!

Well our trip to Nebraska is almost over and little Will has been quite the social butterfly! He has been entertaining guests all week. (Great) Grandma Mona and Aunt Debbie came over Monday and Great Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Craig and Aunt Karen were here Tuesday. Then on Wednesday we went down to Lincoln and Will got to meet Luke, who was born 2 weeks after him. Then we went to visit more Bellamys -- Matt, Paula, Kyle, Michelle, Cameron, McKenzie, and Kyson. Thursday Uncle Bob and Aunt Francie were here, and then we went and met the Skudlarek twins that were born in March. Whew!! The little man has been doing a great job, posing for pictures and being sweet while everyone got their chance to hold him. Being at home with just mom and dad is going to be pretty boring for him after all of this! :)

Here's some pics of Will with all his admirers...

Will and Grandma Mona got along great!

He loves his Grandma Bellamy...

but Will doesn't know quite what to think of his big Grandpa Bellamy!

Here is Will with his friend Luke on their first play date! I don't think they knew quite what to think, do you? They didn't do a whole lot this time, but when they see each other again it will be a different story!!

We were ready to take Cameron home with us after he did such a great job keeping Will comfortable...

His sister did a pretty great job too! She was great with Will and took the job of holding him very seriously. Kyson wanted his chance too, but we couldn't keep him still long enough to even get a picture!

We made it!

We made it! After two days and almost 1000 miles, Will has successfully made his first trip to Nebraska! He must have taken my threat of not trying this again until he's old enough to do part of the driving himself seriously because he was a wonderful little traveler, spending most of the day asleep. Sara spent the trip in the back seat just in case Will had a meltdown and needed some attention along the way and Todd spent his first Father's Day behind the wheel of the car all day! The best part was that he still slept on his regular schedule through the night...yeah for us!!

Our little traveler...

Every 200 miles or so we got out for a little stretch break, snack, and diaper change!

And of course as soon as we got to Aunt Jess and Grandpa Berens' house, we got some new Husker gear! It's all a little big right now, but it will be just right for football season!!

We're on the move!

Well -- I think we're ready to attempt the long drive to Nebraska...and I think we're probably crazy trying to drive that far with a little person, but here we come!

So for those of you in Nebraska (or somehow en route...) we are planning on leaving here on Saturday, stopping in Dallas, and then driving to Omaha on Sunday. We will be in town until probably Thursday or so, although we are leaving that open until we see how Will does with traveling (or how his parents do with traveling WITH him...). We would love to see as many people as possible while we're there, so if you are around, please let us know and we'll get together...

On another note, Will had his one month check up today. He weighs 10 lbs, 12 oz now and is 23 inches long. All of that puts him in the 70th percentile on the growth chart, which is the same place he was at birth, so we're holding steady. He impressed the Dr. by holding his head and chest up while he was on his stomach and moving his head around to follow sound. He has also started to coo and smile a little bit so play time has started to be a little more fun for mom and dad! :)

My 1/12th Birthday...

I was ADORABLE in May...

And now I'm HANDSOME in June!

Strong "Will"ed

Well it hasn't taken long for our little guy's personality to start to shine through. Apparently he may have inherited a bit of a strong will (I don't know from who!). Here he is during tummy time -- already trying to make his move! As you can see, he seems pretty determined and he gets a little upset when he can't go anywhere! I thought we weren't supposed to have to worry about him moving for months, but if this is any indication, he's going to be ready far before we are ready to follow him!
